The sun was shining early on Saturday morning March 12, 2016, and everyone was sporting their green apparel when they came out to attend the 2nd Annual Atlanta St. Patrick's Parade 5K Run/Walk 2016! Over 225 runners participated in this wonderful and fun pre-St. Patrick's Parade along the streets of Midtown! The overall winner of the Atlanta St. Patrick's Parade 5K was Jim Feenan, age 34 from Atlanta, with a time of 19 minutes and 12 seconds. Followed closely by the first female winner- Maddie Anderskon- age 21, with a time of 19:33. Male Master Winner of the 5K was Peter Van Der Reyden, age 50, with a time of 21:39 and Female Master winner Geraldine Coyle, age 45 coming in at 28:03. Runners enjoyed a fun walk & run through the streets of Downtown and Piedmont Park. Afterwards, participants enjoyed a post-race beer from Fado's- Atlanta's top Irish pub in the city, while waiting for the St. Patrick's Parade to start at noon. Kids also got to enjoy free Face Painting before the parade! Race Director & Organizer, Sean Pfister, had this to say "We're so glad to see the race run on Peachtree Street and that everyone seemed to have a great time" Plus the event raised close to $3000 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team In Training Georgia Chapter.
