On Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at LeFont Theaters in Sandy Springs, Georgia, was the 33rd Annual Chattahoochee Road Race. Over 1000 of runners came from all around Georgia to attend this annual event, held by iWeLife. This year, we had 1090 runners! Over 250 more than last year! The winner of the 5K overall was Blake Jergensen, 34 years old from Atlanta at a time of 15 minutes and 54 seconds. Janel Blancett, 28 years old from Conley was the female overall 5K winner with a time of 18:02. Masters Male & Female winners were Brian Sydow from Johns Creek with at 16:35, and Amy Glahn coming from Atlanta with a time of 19 minutes and 40 seconds. The 10K overall winner was Jason Holder, 32 years old from Atlanta coming in at 33:09. Breanna Ragsdale from Atlanta, 32 years old came in at 39:04. Masters winners were Jeff Haertel, age 53 with a time of 36:21, and female masters winner was Dara Steele-Belkin age 41 with a time of 39:16 Coming in at the last mile for the 5K was Blake Jorgensen at 5:01, followed by Emily Borsare age 41 at 5:42. Masters winners were Bryan Sydow with a time of 5:13 and Amy Glahn with 6 minutes and 6 seconds. For the 10K last mile, that goes to Jason Parks with a time of 4:59, with Breanna Ragsdale following at 5:52. Masters of the 5K were Jeff Haertel with a time of 5:41, and Dara Steele from Belkin coming in at 5:54. Over 1000 runners came out to participate. The race course started & finished near LeFont Theaters in Sandy Springs. Runners finished with warm delicious cookies from Great American Cookies. The Event Organizer, Sean Pfister, said: "We were so excited to see the event grow to over 1000 runners this year and that we raised over $5500 for both Chattahoochee Road Runners and Riverwood High School Athletic Association! The support from the city of Sandy Springs and our event's legacy is a partnership we're proud of maintaining." Sarah Foreman Reeves, one of the event's participants, had this to say: "Thank you!
