Event Information


There will be registration the morning of the race 6:30-7:45am

Saturday, March 1, 2014 - 8:00 am start time for both 10K and 5K

Both races will start on Mt Vernon Road (near 230 Mount Vernon Highway Northwest Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328) between Sandy Springs Circle and Roswell Rd. Please park at Lefont Theaters and make your way up to Mt. Vernon (we're hoping to have a shuttle to assist those that don't want to walk .6 miles to the start). The parking we have used in the past at the old Target is being demolished, please do not park there.

Race morning packet pick-up/t-shirts will be at Lefont Theaters too!

5K Entry Fees

  • $25 before 2/9/2014
  • $30 until 2/26/2014
  • $35 packet pick-up/day-of race.

10K Entry Fees

  • $30 before 2/9/2014
  • $35 until 2/26/2014
  • $40 packet pick-up/day-of race.


All participants will receive a shirt, goody bag. Must be registered by 2/9/14 to guarantee a t-shirt, otherwise while supplies last.


Bicycles, skateboards, baby strollers/joggers, roller skates, and animals are not allowed in the race. Headphones are strongly discouraged.

Both courses are certified by the USTAF- 5K GA10091WC, 10K GA09013WC

Start Rules

  • All participants start at about 8:00 AM
  • Walkers are welcome in but must start at the back of the pack.

Aid Stations

Aid stations containing water and sports drinks will be available on the course.

Time Limit

The time limit for the is 2.0 hours. Once the streets are re-opened and course support shut down, any remaining runners/walkers will need to move to the sidewalks.

Race Timing

The race will utilize MyLaps timing chips that are be affixed to each racer’s number bib. Each runner will also receive a bib number to be worn during the race. Make sure you wear the # your were assigned!

Runners will receive both a gun time and chip or net time. Overall awards are based on gun times. Age group awards are based on chip or net time.

Charity Partners

Running mentor program: When you register you’ll be able to sponsor a youth runner, which will allow for them to run the race for free. This year we’re partnering with the City of Refuge’s Youth Running Club and it will be an opportunity for the kids, ages 9-14 to experience road racing.  More info on City of Refuge
